Post by Rare »

Came across this when looking through c.list. I know it's a long shot, but we got a few guys out there fishing John Loyd Park

That so stinks. I hate that to the guts.

Almost feel the calling for another Green Tide type action.

Ron, it will be nice & I thought about it.... but what sucks is that no matter what you give him it will never replace what he wants back. That will be the memories with his old man when he went fishing with that reel/rod

Yeah I know but you know what

A replacement from a corner where you never saw it cumming might create a new memory.

Gonna see if I can contact the dude and I'll pass him a setup - Custom

I'll give him this

Agreed. But I also agree with STRIZ. Chances are they are not coming back which is such bull. On the other hand a gesture from other kindered souls like us is pretty special.

That said I would call every pawn shop in the entire area giving them a heads up and offer a reward. And I would live on CL. These things will probably surface in those places sooner or later. They certainly are not going to stand on that jetty and use them.

I agree with everything you said. But I don't believe a 'smart thief" stole this equipment. IMO This was more a crime of opportunity. Someone was walking along and stumbled on to the mother load and just clipped it. I hope they do something stupid and get caught and they really don't have a lot of options with fishing equipment. You don't really believe that smart people are thieves do you? Ha we all live in a world covered by video cameras and cell phones. They all do it one last time and finally get caught. It would be nice for this man.

It really sucks for this person. I hope the stuff finds its way to him.

Ron you are too nice of a person but without verified facts its hard to know what is really going on. This world is very surprising. I much rather reserve that kind of act with people I know or at the very least heard about.

With people I do not know I give what I can. Invite the man to Anglins to fish and see what he really needs. He might just need a few fishing buddies to watch out for his gear when he can't.

That sux.. but stuff happens after all this is Amerika the land of the free to do anything.

The equipment is probably gone for-ever, sold for a quick buck to a friend of a friend for a quick fix, or the idiot will show up on the pier or closest bridge using it within a day or so.

Speaking fo camera's why don't the piers have security cameras, they could very easily view every person that comes and goes....

Very unfortunate. I hope he is able to find his memories.
I am not sure of the circumstances behind the chain of events, but when using more than I can carry, I usually take a little wagon I have or a homemade grocery cart I turned into a reel holder. South Florida doesn't have the most trust worthy people. IMO
