surf fishing off ponte vedra beach - any suggestions

Going down to Ponte Vedra beach end of Feb. Any suggestions as to what I would expect to catch in the surf and what bait to use? thanks, Tom

Best bet is going to be whiting near shore with clams or shrimp. Might come across some blues or if your lucky a pompano. Just use small hooks for the whiting n pompano. Wire and live or cut bait for blues....or a spoon lure.

Thanks. Are the frozen clams you buy in bait stores any good?

Yep. Just make sure theyre thawed or theyll fall off real easy.
