Help for a florida first timer

Hi guys I posted this already in the Broward county section which I believe was the wrong section so I'm posting this here again. I'm a lure fisherman from Ireland visiting fort lauderdale with my travel rod in june. I'm staying in hollywood and I hope to fish the piers ,beach and the freshwater/saltwater canals there too. I just was wondering what lures you guys have had success with that I should try bringing. I'm more of a multi species angler and I dont mind catching small fish. I'll have a selection of spinners,jigs,gulp,shrimp lures, spoons, soft plastics etc. Hope you guys could point me in the direction of some fishing so that I can complete my holiday!! As I'm not from florida I've not even caught something basic like a jack before so some tips would be appreciated

Bucktail jigs(various sizes) and rapala xrap 12. Keep it simple and throw those two things and you will hook up to something.
