Lets see some of the ways you guys store your gear...right now I use a 14 rod rack that I got at Boaters World for the rigs I use the most often, but I'm starting to outgrow it...other racks or cool homemade contraptions?

i have the same rack but the highest point in my house is a little over 8 feet high and a bunch of my rods dont fit.

I hang them on bicycle hooks from the garage ceiling, keeps them up and out of the way, but I do need a ladder to get them down.

Mine are stacked up against my work bench in the garage. One of these days i'll purchase some sort of rod rack.

Keep my short rods hung over my head in my office. The long rods are hanging over curtain rods in my living room. Essentially they are all over my house.

How do you like this rack? There is a similar one that holds 12 rods on sale for $40 at BPS. Originally $80.

It works fine, definitely better then keeping them all tangled and stacked in the corner which was my old method.

Dude, is that mold growing on the corner of your walls? Did you also cut a mass hole in the wall to store your ords. You are crazy mister.

Lol! That is an office that I built into my living room recently and have been too lazy to put up the crown molding yet. I designed the office with a false ceiling and yes have a "hole" to fit my longer rods which I havent finished framing yet. It works fine and NO I dont have mold on my walls.

I need another rack, and was wondering whether you like this one or not. Have you had any problems with it at all?
By "it works fine", do you mean that you like it, or that it is just ok, but gets the job done.

Check this one out. I used a milk crate, lengths of 1" and 1-1/4" PVC pipe and Zip-Ties to make this one. As shown, this one fits up against a wall so it doesn't have rod holders across the back. It holds 16 rods.
Some of these are 4/0s.

Here it is with the rods. This is one of 100 + projects for boating and fishing in the book my son and I will have ready soon. Lots of techniques for working with PVC are included.

capt. i use the same thing for my pier cart. works great.

I built a rod rack using 2 x 12 wood and 2 x 4 braces. Use 1 1/4 pvc (heavy gauge) for small butts and 1 1/2 for larger butts about 9 inch spacing depending on the size of the reels and about 8 inches tall cut at a 45 on each end. Make sure to use a table saw and rotate the pvc so the end match up. Attach the pvc to 2 x 12 with 1 1/4 wood screws. The length and width will be based on how many rods and how big the reels are.

Very clean Dig. I wanted to do that in my garage but had too much crap. I end up mounting them on the garage ceiling. Thank goodness I'm tall.

Makes me want to get a rack now rather than having them leaning against the corner in the garage

Keeps your rod tip from breaking.

i like the idea of the milk crate ,for the xtra rods i got.

I just strapped PVC to my celing shelves in the garage for my big or heavy rods. I have a 8 rod rack I bought from FF73 for the rest. FF's got a great set up. He used overhead boat racks. 4 or 6 rods each and there gangable.
