Heres a better way to trolly baits.....

rob- seems like from virginia through northern georgia is where these setups are really used....probably because the kings are fewer there than here but they are alot bigger averaging around 20lbs

cant wait to get back out there......good to know im not the only one

cookin- we should hit anglins after new years......ive done it there before and its nice cause theres hardly anyone out there on the weekdays....just sucks cause none of these piers have rod holders..

Being from the panhandle maybe im missing something here. Im familiar with two rod trolleys just as you describe, having fished them years ago on gulf state pier in Alabama. My question is why would you even want to fish a trolley if the kings are thick, I guess up in the Carolinas where they only catch a few kings a year it makes sense. In the panhandle we freeline live baits and "snobble" dead ones and have no problem catching plenty of kings. Its just a lot more fun to hold the rod in hand and be able to see and feel the strike and get to jack the fish. How do the regulars down there usually kingfish?

cigar im positive the guys along the middle east coast would definitly fish like that if the kings were as thick as they are there but theyre not.....with these two rod setups usually if a king swims by ur gunna catch it...so theres a better catch ratio.....but even when they are thick, ive seen 5 rods go off at the same time all two rod setups an theres really no problem keeping the lines under control(one benefit to the short fighting rods).....

but i think no matter what i like to use the two rod better than any....seein that rod bounce up an down hangin off the rail with the drag screamen so loud everyone on the pier turns around an the adrenelin when ur runnen over to the rod....nothin like it
