South Miami

First of all I have to say that this is a great site. I am pretty new to Miami and I live in South Miami Kendall area and I want to know what is the best place to do some fishing around here. It seems like from reading on this site so far that the best piers are in Lauderdale. Would it be best for me to go up to Lauderdale or down further south? Where are the fishing spots down further south? I am looking to do some fishing really soon and any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. If I live that far south, I would focus fishing in Miami. Rickenbacker, or Bill Baggs, Haulover Inlet, and the beaches at night. I would also make the Keys my second home. Go thru the Keys fishing report and you should be a good idea which bridge most of us fish on. Some of the dade members should chime in later.

Thanks for the welcome. I do want to focus more on this area I just have not found a lot of info on the Miami fishing scene yet. I was thinking that I should try the keys for fishing spots. I will try and find the keys forum so I could try out some spots hopefully this week coming.

archie, i agree with bolo. rickenbacker, bill baggs, haulover, try diffrent techniques and baits. always switch it up till you find something that works.

welcome. im in dade as well bird rd....ive done some fishing in dade but i prefer lauderdale or the keys (thats my heaven) lol but its all preference. if you want we can def hit up some places together
