Party boat fishing

Post by kyfisherman »

My father n law and my wife's grandpa will be going with us to Ormond beach this year.. We'll be arriving on May 17. They've never been out on the ocean and want to try going on a party boat. Are there any in the area that you all would reccomend?

Out of Ponce Inlet, there are two main fleets, the Critter Fleet and the Sea Spirit I, II, etc. I've gone out with both and I would opt for one of the Sea Spirit boats that run out of the Inlet Harbor Marina and Restaurant. Much friendlier. Also, they both have half day and full day trips. Full day is about $70 each for adults and about half that for kids and worth it. Half day, you are going to spend more time traveling than you are fishing. http://www.seaspiritfishing.com/ Hope this helps.

what do you primarily fish for on the sea spirit?

I've not had to good of luck party boat fishing.. private charters are a bit high for my blood, unless i sat through a timeshare deal sand spent that money on it lol........

but anyway......... i've been out on several party boats, the last time i went out it about killed me to say the least..... a day on the open ocean is rough..... I finally hooked up on a reel screaming little tuny

They will primarily run out to the artificial reefs and bottom fish. Lots of stuff out there, grouper, snapper, sharks, etc.

just remember to check the waves. If they have never been out before they may :puker: get sick.
