North Skyway Fishing Pier

Post by tears143 »

I went there to fish for some snapper and my friend to catch some crabs.

The crabs aren't flushing well at all. Snapper are slower than I want it to bite. Ended up with 1 snapper and 1 grunt. Also landed this guy.

He/She is a whopping 15". Wasn't going after grouper but it's a bycatch when you are fishing on the reef. ;)

Also if you are going out there, get some live big shrimp and have one pole rigged. So you'll be ready to toss to a tripletail. I saw 3 floating out to the ocean all are undersize though but you might be lucky and spot a keeper. I know there's a report of someone catching a keeper recently.

Good luck out there!
