The water temperature was 64, clear but a bit rough. The 6oz sputnicks held fine though.
Withing the first 5 minutes, I had a nice 15" pompano take the salted clam. After that I had a double hook up of whitings, a blue fish and 4 catfish. Around high tide at 7PM, both my 15' rods get slammed and tangled. I knew it had to be a pompano since they like to run parallel to the shore when hooked. Sure enough, there is a 14" pompano on one rod and the other had a nice surprise, a 16" sea trout. A first for me from the surf, a first for me anywhere actually
