Shore Fishing Spots New Smyrna? Near Merks?

So, I have gone out with buddies on their pontoon boat the last couple of weeks and ended up with pretty much nothing. Using everything from live mud minnows freeline, to mm on a bobber, live shrimp free line, on the bottom, floated, and even some top water baits... Fished mosquito lagoon starting 8 am all the way till 6 pm in various area's and ended up with small mangroves, few whiting, and some blowfish.

I am open to area's around New Smyrna beach on the shore... if anyone has any recommendations along with bait recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it! Ever since my grandfather passed, I don't have access to a boat often but still love to get out and get lines in the water!

Pretty much anywhere along the beach. Sunrise or sunset around high tide. Scout the beach at low tide and look for pockets of deeper water. Pompano or whiting for dinner. Bluefish or sharks for fun.

That doesn't exactly give me an area. I am looking for specifics.

Try google earth. You can see so many things if you pay attention to details...
