canaveral national seashore

Post by bibijawa »

Im taking a trip up from miami this friday and wanted to do some surf fishing with the family. Can
someone suggest an area to fish. I was up there 2 years ago in the fall and caught some whiting at
the 3rd lot from the north entrance. How is the fishing this time of year?

Fishing has been phenomenal at playalinda beach recently! On an average trip over the last two months I have been getting an excess of 20 whiting per trip, with lots of blues and a few pompano mixed in... Live shrimp peeled have been he ticket for me, but clam and sanfleas are top baits too. Remember, at low tide you must get Wet, because you will have to walk out to the sandbank and cast off of there to catch anything, but at high tide, the fish are 10 feet from the sand... Good luck, and lemme know how it goes because I am heading that way on Saturday...

Well, I fished lot 12 from 11am to 3pm. Caught about 8 whitings and 2 short pomps. The weather was beautiful and my girls really enjoyed this beautiful beach.

Nice job! I was there this morning, and the fishing was slow... Caught lots of whiting but no pompano.... The water was really nice though, and I cannot wait to get out there next weekend!
